Dr. Katie Cunnah is a Chartered Psychologist and experienced postdoctoral researcher with expertise in occupational and organisational psychology. Her career includes leadership roles such as Senior Psychologist and Operations Director at the University of Hull’s Centre for Human Factors, where she led projects on occupational stress, organisational wellbeing, and the challenges of remote and hybrid working. Katie has worked with organisations in policing, health, local government, and energy, collaborating with the UK Health and Safety Executive and the Department for Levelling Up to improve workplace wellbeing. Her work is underpinned by advanced qualitative research skills and a deep understanding of the factors that shape employee health and performance.
Alongside her organisational psychology expertise, Katie has conducted research in mental health areas such as suicide prevention, dementia, and chronic fatigue syndrome. She also serves as a Research Tutor on the Clinical Psychology Doctorate Programme at the University of Hull, supporting trainees with their research. Additionally, Katie works for a London-based corporate governance advisory firm which specialises in Board performance reviews. Her varied experience—including founding businesses, working in recruitment, and training as a teacher—equips her with unique insight into workplace challenges and strategies for fostering healthy, high-performing organisations.
Katie holds a BA (Hons) Music from SOAS, MSc Psychology (Conversion) from Leeds Beckett University, PhD Psychology from the University of Hull, and is undertaking an MSc Occupational & Organisational Psychology at Northumbria University. She She is qualified in Psychometric Personality and Ability (A & B) testing through Saville Assessment and has undertaken ILM-accredited training in Executive Coaching and Mentoring.
